Cerebral Palsy (CP) affected children need regular physical activity to improve muscle strength & general health. This is accomplished through regular physiotherapy & other activities which result in increasing flexibility of muscles. We provide the therapy and trainings on a daily basis in a safe and secure environment. We also educate & enable the parents to follow through the sessions at home. This project has equipped Balajothi Centre with the much-needed physiotherapy equipment & training aids for the program.

Balajothi thanks YOU, DONOR, for your dedicated and sacrificial donations of $270 till date towards this worthy project.  Every donation received is being used for purchase of equipment and training costs.  Several children with special needs such as cerebral palsy have improved a great deal due to the training sessions. We thank you for your sustained help and support towards this project.

Balajothi thanks GlobalGiving for their guidance and sessions on various aspects of working with special children, through webinars, helpful tips and fund raising on a global level.  Thank you GlobalGiving for your support !!

HELP CEREBRAL PALSY AFFECTED CHILDREN

(Project #39831 by Balajothi Centre for the Disabled Trust)

Funding target $5000 / funds raised to date $270.15

Due date of report Jan 23, 2020 / Report sent on Jan 9, 2020

Long-Term Impact

Neglect of a CP impaired child can lead to lifelong inadequacies impacting the child's life. Regular therapy & training sessions help the children lead near-normal lives. Failure results in tightening of ligaments & spasticity leading to permanent immobility. CP impaired children are trained for: SELF CARE: bathing, toileting, dressing & grooming, MOBILITY: to safely and independently move around,  COMMUNICATION AND SOCIAL RELATIONSHIPS: Child's interaction, especially with other people. Thus giving them SELF ESTEEM, CONFIDENCE IN SELF AND OTHERS, SENSE OF WELL BEING, PRIDE IN ACHIEVING, in short A WHOLESOME HUMAN BEING.

Thank you DONOR for your generous contribution of $270.15 for changing the life of the underprivileged disabled community.  Your donations will be used to provide life-changing rehabilitation activities for the improvement of such persons.

Balajothi thanks GlobalGiving for their continued guidance and support in this humanitarian service by raising funds from across the globe, thus giving us an opportunity to serve these children in our own neighborhood.  Thank you GlobalGiving !!

Shiva (name changed) is a 100 % disabled child affected by Cerebral Palsy.  Though he is unable to control his body movements he is a happy child and responds well to his caregivers during therapy and training.  He is also non vocal.  When asked if he likes to attend Balajothi Centre he nods vigorously.  He is attached to a select few of the caregivers and is very co-operative. The various programs seek to stimulate his interest and involvement.

Balajothi thanks YOU DONOR for your sacrificial giving of $270.15 which has brought a change in Shiva’s life.  He is certainly happier and healthier now than when he started the program.  YOU DONOR have made this change possible and brought much happiness into his life.  THANK YOU AGAIN for your ongoing support.

Due date of project report : July 21, 2019

Date report sent : June 25, 2019

Goal amount : $ 5000

Funds raised through GlobalGiving to date : $195.15

Cerebral Palsy is the most common movement disorder in children and about 2.1 per 1000 babies suffer from it all over the world. In India, out of the 121 Cr population, about 2.68 Cr children are affected by autism, cerebral palsy, mental retardation or a combination of any two or more of the above. For most people with cerebral palsy, the cause is unknown.

Balajothi thanks YOU DONOR for your generosity in donating $ 195.15 towards this noble cause.  Every dollar that you donate is being spent for the rehabilitation and training of cp affected children, both at the centre and in their home.  The incidence of this disability is huge but every care and effort is being taken in creating awareness and to contain the hardship faced by families with such children.

Your regular and continuous support towards this cause makes a huge difference in the progress and well being of our special children.  THANK YOU from the bottom of our hearts.

We thank GlobalGiving for raising funds on their fund raising platform to support this cause and enabling transformation of lives of suffering humanity.  THANK YOU GLOBALGIVING !!
