The Goal of SACD's Caribbean-American Scholarship Fund is to provide funding for economically disadvantaged Caribbean-American students in Brooklyn, New York. Starting June 2014, it is the Society's intention to give out ten scholarships per year. These scholarships will be given to both undergraduate college students and trade school students. Information on how to apply for a scholarship can be found on SACD's website at http:// www.sac-diaspora.org.
Because of the downturn in the economy, many Caribbean-Americans students who are seeking higher education are finding it difficult to stay in college due to the high cost of tuition is making it difficult for them to achieve their goal.
SACD's Caribbean-American Students Scholarship Fund will help many Caribbean-Americans students achieve their goal of a higher education to learn new skills for the changing economy.
The long term impact will be far reaching. It will help Caribbean-Americans continue to have an economic foot hold in the USA, and also empower them to help the Caribbean region with their resources.
