We are thrilled to report that progress continues on Kenya Connect's Green Learning Resource Center (GLRC) in Wamunyu! Additional materials have been purchased for the fence and workers are beginning to install it. In addition, a water line has been dug from the town and intalled to the project site. Having access to water helps with mixing cement for the fence posts, foundation of the building, and making bricks. It is all very exciting! A local architect is finishing the schematic drawings for the building and we plan on including a sketch of the building in our next project report. Members of the Wamunyu community are thrilled to see this project well underway and happy to have the employment!
Once again we would like to thank the many Global Giving donors who helped make this project a reality. We are still raising funds to help complete the cost of the project. We also encourage all Kenya Connect friends to join us for our annual Fall Fundraiser on Friday, September 30 at the Visionary Arts Museum in Baltimore. More information about the event can be found at www.kenyaconnect.org.
