We extend our gratitude to those who have contributed to this initiative. While we have not yet reached our fundraising goal, we are encouraged by promising developments. We are currently in discussions with a potential funder to secure the necessary resources for constructing the building, moving us one step closer to bringing this project to life.
Our team visited the orphanage and was profoundly moved by their time with the children. Their joy, resilience, and unwavering hope left a lasting impact, reaffirming the importance of this project. However, due to the ongoing conflict involving M23 in the area, progress has been temporarily paused for safety reasons. While the children and staff remain safe, they have been surrounded by active fighting, making this a very challenging time.
Looking ahead, we aspire not only to build this vocational training center but also to one day provide the children with access to clean water through our social enterprise, Asili. Our commitment to this project remains steadfast, and with your partnership, we can turn this vision into a reality. Thank you for joining us on this journey.
