Moulding of decking blocks at the site

This project was designed to help in the provision of quality education to orphaned and vulnerable children in Cameroon in the following many dimensions. Firstly, we want to construct and equip conducive classrooms where these children could be receiving training and in a permanent structure. The Project is on a steady progress and in phases according to the available means at a time. All construction has been done, all the cross beams have been completed. In short, we have completed the construction up to the final beam of the first phase. During the month of May, all the students participated in the transportation of the timber to the site. All timbers are now packed on the construction site beside the gravel (concrete) for the decking. The timbers shall be used for concrete boxes, while gravel shall be mixed with sand and cement for the decking floor. We are working are continuing with the making of the decking block. Cement and sand are bought and taken to the construction site where the decking block is taking place and ready for use when all the needed material for the decking is available. Decking a building like this one requires a one time decking because it can not be done in bits. This means that we have to make sure that all the decking blocks are made. We have so far made 800 decking block expecting to make the remaining 1200 to make up the required 2000 for the decking. According to the technicians, they requested for 200 poles to be used in supporting the concrete boxes and the decking to carry the decking floor. We have bought the poles and soon will transport them to site. We expect to do more and at the moment, we are getting closer to the decking proper. This is because we have got up to 65% of what is required for the decking like. Concrete gravel is ready, timber is ready, there is part of the sand on the site, timber has been bought and transported to the site, and poles have been bought awaiting transfer to the site and the local labour is always available. If we are at this level it is because of the generosity of our donors and the Global Giving that gave us financial support to acquire all what we have got so far, paid the technical works that is not easily supplied for free. We are doing our best in managing the funds as all what is destined for this project is 100% directed to it. We are glad to report that we are waiting to receive a team from the Global giving to visit this project and hopefully, we shall be reporting on their visit and and what we have done together within the time they will be here. We promise to get to the completion in an efficient manner. Our Ovcs, admire the project and are eager to start using it as soon as it is ready come September if possible. We dedicate this report to our able donors and those yet to donate to enable us complete the project.
