This project will empower and support 30 youths yearly by building the capacity of young graduates with no work experience and grooming them for the job market through practical training workshops in areas such as Microsoft Packages, Life Planning, Needs Assessment, Bookkeeping, teamwork, Social Media Communications and train them on income generating activities they can use to earn. This will be done through the Circles Volunteer Program of the Reconciliation and Development Association.
Increasing graduate numbers, (112,615) 2017- 2018 with an increase rate of 7.3% (STOPBLABLACAM 2020) joblessness increases. Graduates are unprepared for jobs due to an education system focused on exams over practical skills. Socio-economic challenges and few practical opportunities worsen the situation. Since 2016, socio-political unrest has led to despair and trauma, reducing youths' drive to solve community problems, causing high unemployment, crime, and migration.
The project will empower 30 graduates annually with productivity skills through hands-on job training in organizational skills. Participants will work with RADA for at least a year, including an income-generating allowance period for capacity development and volunteering.
