We’d like to thank everyone who supported our recent ‘Provide Education for 100 orphans in Cameroon’ campaign. We managed to raise the sum of $1460, and although this didn’t meet the $5000 needed to complete our school construction, it is a major step towards its completion. It has also earned us a permanent place on the GlobalGiving site, which offers people the opportunity to continue donating towards this project. The money raised is being used to buy cement and iron poles to begin the construction of the roof section of our building. In order to complete the first phase we still need to raise the remaining funds, and then we can begin to look towards using the building as a permanent school. This will allow us to move from our existing location and will relieve us of the rents we are currently paying. This money can then be redirected towards enrolling more OVC pupils. At present 50% of the school body is made up of OVC pupils, our aim is to increase this by 50 extra OVC pupils within the new September intake.
Students are happy to be involved in the construction of their new school (see photo). If you know anyone who could help us in meeting our goal of offering a stable education to these disadvantaged pupils please forward the following link so they can also donate. Thank you again for your support.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
