Overview
Bhumi's "Think Green Initiative" actively tackles deforestation concerns by successfully planting over 10,141 trees. Fostering environmental responsibility through community collaborations, the initiative engages 2,662 volunteers who have actively participated in 90 events. The upcoming goal for the fiscal year 2023-2024 is to plant an additional 10,000 trees, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) - 15. Bhumi emphasizes the collective duty of environmental stewardship and invites everyone to join in the restoration of the environment.
Challenge
The escalating pace of deforestation and ecosystem degradation demands urgent global intervention. In response, Bhumi's "Think Green Initiative" takes a proactive step toward global reforestation, addressing the severe impacts of climate change.
Solution
With an already impressive count of 10,141 trees planted, in October 2023, Bhumi planted 40 saplings at Madras University College Campus, Chennai, with 13 volunteers participating, it signifies a movement to revitalize our lands. With 90 successful events and the dedicated efforts of 2,662 volunteers, the initiative is committed to greening the planet. Looking ahead, the Tree Plantation Goals for FY 23-24 aim to plant an additional 10,000 trees.
Long-Term Impact
Bhumi's strategic and community-driven approach is commendable. Partnering with organizations for free or minimally charged tree seedlings ensures the sustainability and expansiveness of the green initiative. Beyond planting, the project aims to instill a sense of responsibility among individuals, making it a holistic effort to heal and nurture the land.
