DEAR ANIMALIX FAMILY !!

Activity report from June 16 to October 14, 2020.

Animalix AC appreciates the help that allows us to continue with our activities. We hope that you and your loved ones are staying well in these difficult times resulting from the Covid-19 pandemic. Unfortunately, many stray animals have found themselves more forgotten than ever.

As we shared with you before, our organization works primarily in five areas, some of which have been canceled or postponed due to Covid-19:

 I. ANIMAL WELFARE

Sterilization campaigns:

We carried out two sterilization campaigns for dogs and cats. On August 29, 42 low-cost surgeries were performed. And on October 3 and 4, in a collaboration with the Calle Cero Foundation in Guadalajara, Jalisco, Mexico, we performed 400 free sterilization surgeries. It was a strenuous but satisfying journey for the benefit of homeless dogs and cats, and many families who would normally have trouble paying for surgery for their pets.

 Rescues:

Cleo, Jack, Trufa, Maya, Marshmallow, Tito, Morita and Peluchín were the dogs rescued from the streets in this period. All were rehabilitated from the health conditions they had and were dewormed, vaccinated and sterilized.

 Medical consultations:

During this reporting period, we provided 18 free medical consultations and treatments, with the support of the MVZ (licensed veterinarian) Luis Mendez. They were treated for malnutrition, distemper, skin infections, injuries, wounds, and fractures. Four euthanasias were performed in cases where, unfortunately, nothing else could be done.

Of those rescued, the case of Morita stands out. A small cub of scarcely three months old, she was extremely starved. Truffle, also a puppy, with skin problems. Max and Tequila, who were attacked with a machete, had very serious injuries, but fortunately they recovered well.

In this endeavor, we are grateful to those who find a sick or injured animal and commit to helping us care for it through recovery. We also appreciate support of low-income families, who are sometimes unable to pay the medical bills for their four-legged family members. That is why at Animalix we have the motto: “Together we can change your destiny”.

 II. PROMOTION OF RESPONSIBLE ADOPTION

9 dogs were successfully adopted, some of whom who had been in adoption for years. It is satisfying to see how they now have a home that provides them with care and love. All were delivered in optimal health conditions. The adopted dogs are: Jack, Truffle, Maya, Marshmallow, Pepper, Morita, Peluchín and Vidar.

 III. SOCIAL NETWORKS

In addition to the official page www.facebook.com/AnimalixAC/, our team helps in the administration of the following pages whose objective is in their Facebook title.

Lost and found dogs in San Cristóbal de Las Casas: www.facebook.com/groups/LostandFoundDogsSCLC/  Adopt a dog or a cat in San Cristóbal: www.facebook.com//adoptaSanCristobal/ All demand constant and continuous work to attend to all calls for help, advice and promotion of animal welfare.

 SPECIAL PROJECT: REHABILITATION CENTER

Thanks to the financial resources granted by the Spark Kindness Grant Program, we have begun the construction of a Canine and Feline Rehabilitation Center with the capacity to protect 25 animals. Mainly injured, sick, in heat and nursing mother dogs will be cared for here.

QUERIDA FAMILIA ANIMALIX!!

 I. BIENESTAR ANIMAL
