We are thrilled to share some highlights from the past few months (from April to June) of the DDartists Program, where young artists with developmental disabilities have continued to express themselves, grow with confidence, and inspire their communities through creativity and entrepreneurship.
One of the most heartwarming moments this quarter came from Seojin Jeon, a talented DDartist who launched her own handmade cookie project titled Magic Bakes by Seojin. The debut of her baked goods at the Fort Lee Outreach event on May 3 was met with overwhelming enthusiasm — all 50 boxes of cookies sold out in just a few hours!
Each cookie box was carefully handcrafted by Seojin, a dedicated DDartist in our program who poured her heart into every detail, from testing recipes and baking each batch to designing the packaging and personally labeling every order. Her bake sale was more than just a fundraiser; it was Seojin’s first real step into entrepreneurship, made possible by the support of donors like you. Your generosity gave her the guidance and confidence to pursue her passion and share it with the community
From June 6–29, Give Chances proudly participated in the “Through My Eyes” exhibition at Art House Productions Gallery in Jersey City. This powerful show featured 14 artists, including two of our talented DDartists, who received exceptional praise from both the public and professional art community.
What made this exhibit truly special was the way it shifted the narrative. Visitors didn’t see “disability” first — they saw art: vivid, moving, and full of personal vision. The works of Seongbae and Junhan stood confidently among other featured pieces, proving that talent speaks louder than labels. The exhibition created a space of equity and celebration, where our artists were recognized as the bold, creative individuals they are.
Again, each of these milestones was made possible because of you — our dedicated supporters. Thank you for believing in our artists and standing with us as we build a more inclusive, joyful world through creativity.
