Help 50 Arrested Trafficked Humans in Zambia

By Geoffrey Mulenga | Project Leader

Project Report: Help Arrested Trafficked Humans in Zambia (59400)

Date: August 12, 2024

Project Summary: Since our last update, our team has been working tirelessly to support individuals who have been trafficked and arrested in Zambia. With your generous contributions, we have been able to provide legal assistance, emergency shelter, and essential supplies to those in desperate need. This ongoing support is crucial for their reintegration into society and the pursuit of justice.

Impact Story: Meet Mwanza, a 17-year-old girl who was trafficked across borders and found herself in a terrifying situation, far from her home. Thanks to your support, we were able to secure legal representation for Mwanza, ensuring her safe release from detention. She is now in a safe house, receiving counseling and vocational training to rebuild her life. Mwanza’s story is just one of many, showing the life-changing impact of your donations.

Activities Since Last Report:

  • Legal Assistance: We have provided legal representation to 15 trafficked individuals, helping them navigate the complex legal system.
  • Emergency Shelter: Our team has secured safe housing for 10 survivors, offering them a temporary refuge as they recover.
  • Counseling and Support: Over 20 individuals have received counseling services, helping them cope with the trauma of trafficking and arrest.

Your support has made a tangible difference in these lives, giving hope to those who had none. We will continue to update you on our progress and share more stories of how your contributions are transforming lives.

Upcoming Initiatives: As we move forward, we plan to expand our vocational training programs to equip survivors with the skills needed to start anew. We are also preparing for an upcoming campaign that will match donations, maximizing the impact of your generosity.

Thank you for standing with us in this critical fight against human trafficking. Together, we are making a difference.

Sincerely,
Geoffrey Mulenga
