The faster we can get to an animal in peril, the faster it can receive medical treatment. We get calls every day for animals in desperate situations. We do all we can to immediately help the animal, but with one vehicle, the time to get to the animal can become days. Our one truck is constantly on the go and is often unavailable for days on end. A dedicated Rescue Vehicle is critically needed.
At Lanta Animal Welfare, we receive many requests every about animals is critical situations. Our current 'one vehicle' severely limits our ability to help all the animals in need. In brief: - our catchment area is growing to include Koh Lanta and the mainland areas, so calls are increasing - our one vehicle is away for days at a time on mobile clinics and transporting animals to airports for international rehoming - our delayed response to animals means many die in terrible pain
A dedicated rescue ambulance will ensure that the suffering animals get the treatment they deserve. Our medical team will be able to quickly respond to the animal's needs with immediate diagnosis and life-saving surgery on the spot. Lanta Animal Welfare will be able to better serve the suffering animals with 2 vehicles: - an ambulance will be available at all times - mobile sterilization clinics can increase - rehoming efforts will improve due to our ability to get animals to airports
Lanta Animal Welfare, with a dedicated ambulance, will be able to serve the animal rescue needs of the growing local community, what is now expanding to the mainland and surrounding islands. The locals will be more confident in our ability to relieve the pain and suffering of animals and turn to us when animals are in peril. And, we will be able to hire another community-liaison officer from the local community, which will further endear us to the local communities in our area.
