Greetings!
Today we are sharing a story about a special child who lives in Liberia.
Varney is a spirited little boy from Liberia. He is now six years old. When he was younger he swallowed a colorless, odorless caustic laundry detergent thinking that it was water. It damaged his esophagus so badly that he now can eat only thin liquids through a feeding tube that goes directly into his stomach. The damage also makes everyday life hard for him because he cannot even pass his own saliva causing him to constantly be spitting in a cup He is unable to play like a normal child for fear of damaging his feeding tube. The liquid formula he needs to feed via his feeding tube is very expensive and it is most often unavailable in Liberia.
Varney is in need of an esophageal repair that is unavailable in his country. Without this repair he is in constant danger of infection and malnutrition. This procedure will improve his quality and enjoyment of life and allow for him to eat normally again. He will be able to get stronger so he can run and play like the other children in his village.
Your donations help Varney get help he desperately needs.
We extend a big thank you to those individuals who have already donated to our project.
We hope to attract new donors to join us to help kids like Varney access the medical care they so desparately need. Give today, so HTC Kentucky can help Varney get the medical care he needs. Imagine the difference this surgery will make in his life and what great times will await him in 2020. Together, we can make a difference in the life of a child, a child like Varney, with your support. Thank you.
With grateful appreciation,
