Dear Friend,
Afghanistan is a country trying to find its footing again. After two decades of conflict, the nation is slowly rebuilding, reestablishing itself, and reaching for stability. But the scars of war run deep—and its ability to respond to emergencies remains fragile.
When the 6.0 magnitude earthquake struck near Jalalabad in August, it was a devastating blow to a country already stretched thin. Over 800 lives were lost. More than 2,000 people were injured. Entire villages were reduced to rubble. For families who had already endured so much, the earthquake was another cruel chapter in a long story of hardship.
This is not a country that can easily bounce back on its own. Its emergency response systems were weakened by years of conflict, and the needs far outweigh the resources available. And yet, the resilience of the Afghan people is remarkable. They are determined to rebuild, to heal, and to move forward.
That's where you come in.
Your support for this campaign helps provide food, clean water, shelter, and medical care to families who lost everything in the earthquake. It gives them a chance to recover and rebuild their lives with dignity.
Afghanistan may be far away, but its people are not strangers to us. They are mothers, fathers, children, and elders—just like our own families. They deserve our compassion and our help.
Please, stand with Afghanistan. Donate today.
With hope and determination,
The Smile Givers International Team
