ISIS destroyed the physical and social fabric of Mosul. Now Mosul needs people you can rebuild both. To do this, peace-builders need to be equipped with the best skills to promote a multi-ethnic future that is stable, just, and filled with opportunities for all.
Adnan wants to educate the young people of Mosul to constructively participate in rebuilding the city and its social fabric. He believes that through teaching youth and their families about post-conflict transitions that they will be able to actively contribute to the transition. The Sarajevo Symposium on Post-Conflict Transition provides practical training that Adnan can immediately apply in Mosul - both in his classroom and in his work outside of school.
Through a series of town halls, community outreach programs, and classes, Adnan will share the knowledge and skills he will learn with Mosul's people. By sharing this information and using these skills, Adnan can help to shape the development of Mosul from ISIS oppression to a peaceful society.
