Kids outside of Thailand's urban centers face a bleak future due to poor quality education, with under resourced schools and poorly trained teachers, leaving them trapped in poverty with little hope for a better future - a situation that is only getting worse. By delivering 21st century learning directly to students, providing resources to disadvantaged schools and training teachers on high-impact practices, we're transforming education in Thailand so that all kids can achieve their dreams.
Kids in rural Thai schools are subjected to rote learning practices from the 19th century, rather than modern learning needed for 21st century careers. Thai students consistently rank low on international evaluations, such as placing 54 of 70 countries in the most recent Program for International Student Assessment (PISA). Without support, these kids will not have the opportunity to develop the 21st century skills, or science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) knowledge needed to succeed.
Transforming education in Thailand begins with motivating kids to pursue 21st century careers, followed by providing needed school resources and teacher training to change how students learn. We're on a mission to replace passive, rote learning with inquiry-based methods that encourage students to apply 21st century skills to STEM fields. Our Innovation Camps provide real, hands-on learning to help kids develop a love of learning, and mark their first step on the path to a 21st century career.
Innovation Camps create opportunities for disadvantaged Thai kids to develop key 21st century skills, a love for learning and a vision for their future by bringing empowering education to communities in need. When combined with our work to equip schools and train teachers in the delivery of high-impact teaching practices, our three-part model (inspire, equip, teach) provides kids a real chance at a better life for themselves and their families, allowing them to achieve their dreams.
