Thank you for your continued generosity and unwavering support towards saving lives of children diagnosed with severe malnutrition. Your kindness continues to make a life-saving difference in the lives of vulnerable children in our community.
At our nutrition clinic and nutrition ward, we witness daily recovery stories that bring hope to families who once had none. Malnutrition remains one of the most serious health challenges affecting children in Eastern Uganda, largely driven by poverty, food insecurity, and limited access to basic healthcare.
In the past three months alone, our nutrition department has managed over 100 children affected by malnutrition through both inpatient and outpatient services. This growing number reflects the urgent and ongoing need for nutritional and medical support in our community.
Good news we now offer these services to adults too.
Many of the children we receive come from extremely vulnerable households. Most are cared for by elderly grandmothers after being abandoned by parents who have migrated to cities in search of survival. These caregivers often lack the means to provide adequate food and proper healthcare.
A significant number of these children are referred to us by Good Samaritans, village leaders, neighbours, church members, and community organisations who recognize their critical condition. Many families cannot afford even basic consultation fees, yet the children often require admission for more than two weeks in our nutrition ward for proper stabilization.
At Whisper’s Hospital, we provide holistic care including therapeutic feeding, medical treatment, daily meals, and caregiver support throughout the recovery process. Our nutrition clinic is not only saving lives but also restoring strength, dignity, and hope to families.
Through your continued support, we are able to reach these vulnerable children, reduce preventable deaths, and give them a chance for a healthier future.
We remain deeply grateful for your partnership in this mission of compassion and healing.
