TREATING MALNOURISHED CHILDREN AT WHISPER

A malnourished Child when he had just come
A malnourished Child when he had just come

We would like to thank everyone who has donated towards our malnutrition project. Every month Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital receives a high number of malnourished children who are living under very poor conditions. These children come from very poor families which cannot afford a meal or even a proper roof over their heads. The living conditions of these families is so unfavourable that is why Whisper's Magical Children's Hospital decided to treat and rehabilitate such children at a free cost.

In the past three months whispers has treated quite a big number of malnourished patients compared to other conditions. most of these patients come in when they can barely feed, sit, talk, walk. and they usually stay longer on ward since malnutrition takes time. In our hospital, 30% of the patients we receive are malnourished and this is due to the poor living condition back in their homes.

Acase in point, last month we received a 7 months pregnant mother (22 yrs old) who had brought her 11 months old baby admitted in our nutrition ward and she got complications on her pregnancy where we ended up doing an emergency C section on her and after delivery her condition got worse because she had dialysis and we had to get an emergency ambulance and rush her to a regional referal hospital in the city (125 KMs ) away to save her life, she left her malnourished baby in our nutrition and the new born in our NICU both of them being taken care of by our nurses, after working on her a week back we brought her back and this was all free of charge since she was really doing bad financially. we are so happy that we were able to save her life plus the lives of her 2 children and all of the three got discharged after 3 in a very good condition and happy to have been helped by whispers.

Most of the patients we treat can barerly afford two meals a day, yet those children needs good feeding. we had there fore started a project of supporting them, with one month food after their discharge.this was only able before the COVID19 lockdown came in where our outreach team could visit their families and deliver them food.

It is through your generous donations that we have been able to transform the lives of young innocent souls in the Busoga region. Thank you for not giving up on us and we too are committed to making a difference in the lives of mothers and Children in the region and Uganda at large.

We are so appreciative of your your endless support!
