Our project now has a very reliable water source. We're happy to report that our water well was drilled in May and was quite successful with a good water flow reported. This means our project should have plenty of water. More importantly, it assures that there is sufficient nearby water readily available for building the houses.
The well was completed at the end of May. The pump will not be installed until the time its needed when building is about to begin. We are currently still evaluating the alternatives to bringing electricity to the project. Whether solar alone is good, electricity from the electric company, or a combination of both.
We expect that home building will begin in early 2019. If you have friends, family or co-workers who would be excited about helping women move out of the slums, please let them know about our project! Likewise, if you have any connections to solar power companies or NGOs, please tell them about us.
