HELP 500 WOMEN VICTIMS OF ARMED CONFLICTS (Project ID: 59072)
Funds Raised: $52 of $21,948 goal
Summary of Progress:
Despite limited funding, the project has begun preliminary engagement activities in Sokoto and Zamfara States—two conflict-affected regions in Northern Nigeria. Our local coordinators have conducted a needs assessment to identify 120 women who lost livelihoods due to displacement and insecurity. With community partnerships and volunteer support, we have provided basic psychosocial counseling and introduced 10 women to small-scale income recovery initiatives such as shea butter processing and vegetable production.
Challenges:
Funding remains the primary limitation, restricting our ability to expand livelihood kits and trauma recovery sessions. Insecurity and logistical constraints have also slowed field outreach.
Next Steps:
Launch the first round of skill training for 50 women by January 2026.
Provide seed grants to 20 women entrepreneurs.
Strengthen partnerships with local women’s associations and peacebuilding groups.
Appeal:
With additional support, this project will empower 500 women to rebuild their lives with dignity, stability, and sustainable income sources.
