Every child deserves a safe place to learn. Yet hundreds of vulnerable children at Tiljala SHED study under leaking roofs, damaged ceilings, and unsafe floors that worsen during the monsoon. Your support will repair our Learning Centres, creating safe, child-friendly classrooms where children can learn with dignity, stay protected, and build brighter futures. Help us repair classrooms and restore hope- one child, one classroom, one future at a time.
More than 500 children from vulnerable communities in Kolkata learn in our 10 community learning centres, many of which have leaking roofs, damaged ceilings, cracked walls, and unsafe classrooms. During the monsoon, water enters the rooms, disrupting classes and damaging learning materials. Without urgent repairs, children will continue to study in unsafe, unhealthy conditions that affect their education, attendance, and well-being.
This project will repair and refurbish all 10 learning centres by fixing leaking roofs, damaged ceilings, cracked walls, flooring, electrical fittings, and repainting classrooms. Safe, clean, and child-friendly learning spaces will enable over 500 vulnerable children to attend classes regularly, learn without disruption, and access quality education in a secure and dignified environment.
Restoring all 10 learning centres will create safe and inspiring spaces where over 500 vulnerable children can learn, grow, and thrive for years to come. Improved learning environments will increase attendance, strengthen educational outcomes, reduce dropout risks, and support children's overall well-being, helping them build brighter futures and break the cycle of poverty through education.
