Getting Ready for a New Year of Learning!

Summer may have just started but the new school year is not too far away and we are so excited to get back into the classrooms! Piedmont Wildlife Center does animal programs all around the Triangle, visiting Title 1 schools and educating about our natural world.

However, we need your help to make these programs a reality for Title 1 classrooms! Each animal program costs $325, but through your donations we can bring Wildlife Ambassadors to students at no cost to the teachers. An animal program features five to six Wildlife Ambassadors and a curriculum tailored to educate about our backyard critters and how to be better neighbors with wildlife. These programs allow students to witness species and have educational experiences that they would not otherwise have access to.

While we wait for the new school year to kick off, we are still busy making sure our Wildlife Ambassadors get the best care possible. With 23 Ambassadors of all different species and care needs, it takes a lot of hard work to care for them. We are also continuing to host field trips, tours, and private events as we wait to re-enter the classroom!

We thank you for your support as we continue to expand to more and more Title 1 Classrooms across the Triangle. With your help, the 2026-2027 School Year is going to be the best one yet!
