We at Chrit Children Home Education Fund (CCHEF) want to thank all of you donors for supporinting the GLOBALGIVING FOUNDATION in it's efforts to eradicate and prevent the return of the deadly Ebola virus. This disease as we know, has ripped through west Africa and devasted the region leaving about 15,000 people dead, more than 5000 orphans and leaving even thousands more displaced, discriminated against, stigmatized, homeless, fearful, and without hope. But through the goodwill, passion, generoursity and empathy displayed by of all of you donors out there, thousands of people have been healed and tended to by many of the GLOBALGIVING partners like us who have gone into communities and affected the lives of people who were impacted greatly by this dreadful epidemic
The $5,000 grant entrusted to us through GLOBALGIVING went a long way to help us locate and serve 200 survivors which includes 50 orphan children who parents died from the Ebola virus with basic necessities, medical care, scholarships, school uniforms, books, shoes, stationaries and all the necessary tools needed to take them through the school year. One of our orphans who I call my princess is a 2 year old baby girl name Favor who mother was a nurse at the Phebe Hospital in Bong County Liberia during the height of the Ebola crisis in 2014 and died from the Ebola virus after caring for patients without the proper personal protective equipment (PPE). Favor today lives with her grandmother who is struggling to care for her due to very limitted or no finances, that's where we stepped in with your help to care for her by putting her in daycare where she is cared for and feed with nutritional meals. Her grandmother said quote "Thank you all for all the help and that without your help I will not be able to go through this".
While the number of Ebola paients have dwindled, the scars of it's wrath continues for example hunger, lack of education, medical problems, and sadly homelessness to orphans and others: therefore we must remain vigillant in assisting those who have been impacted severely by this disease especiallythe orphan children. We know that there is still a lot of work to be done but with your continued help we can continue to affect and enrich the lives of those that have been scared by this dreadful disease by helping to uplift them and bring back optimism and dignity to their lives. In conclusion, we say THANKYOU THANKYOU THANKYOU for partnering with GLOBALGIVING to ensure that thaousands of people can be provided with the basic necessities such as food, medical care, and education which is very important to prepare the next generation of Liberian leaders. Please take the time and check out all the pics and videos in the attachments and if you have please feel free to contact us.
