Project Report | Aug 14, 2023
Informe Agosto 2023

By Asirea Asociacion | Project Leader

Informe Agosto 2023

With donations, this project supports the initiative to protect the forest owned by several families with farms located in the areas surrounding the banks of the Parismina and Reventazón river basins, which are part of the wetland areas located in the cantons of Pococí and Guácimo, Limón Costa Rica.

With the donations received during the year 2023, a fund is maintained which is granted to the families benefited by this project, so that they can cover part of the costs associated with the protection of forests and such as lane maintenance, signage, logistics for surveillance, etc. The beneficiary families have also made small improvements in infrastructure located on their properties.

These families have shown that protecting the forest resource is a decision that, although it represents an economic sacrifice and productive time, also generates personal satisfaction and a sense of belonging.
