Restoring Education for Displaced Children

By Ikechukwu Kelechukwu | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

Back to School, Back to Hope: Restoring Education for Displaced Children in Nigeria

Across Aku community in Okigwe, Imo State, hundreds of displaced children are still struggling to return to school after years of insecurity, violence, and community displacement. Many families lost their homes, livelihoods, and sources of income, leaving children vulnerable to poverty, child labor, exploitation, and early marriage.

Despite these challenges, hope is rising again.

Thanks to the generosity of compassionate supporters, Empower Future Initiative (EFI) has already begun mobilizing educational support for vulnerable and internally displaced children affected by conflict in southeastern Nigeria. Every donation helps provide access to education, school enrollment, learning materials, school uniforms, footwear, and psychosocial support for children traumatized by violence and instability.

Education remains one of the most powerful tools for child protection, peacebuilding, poverty reduction, and long-term community recovery. Returning these children to the classroom means restoring dignity, safety, emotional healing, and a brighter future.

However, hundreds of children are still waiting.

Your support today can help:

  • Pay school fees for displaced children

  • Provide books, backpacks, uniforms, and writing materials

  • Prevent child labor and school dropout

  • Support girls at risk of early marriage

  • Restore hope for families affected by conflict and displacement

  • Promote quality education and sustainable development in vulnerable communities

With your help, we can ensure that children affected by insecurity in Nigeria are not forgotten.

A donation of:

  • $25 can provide learning materials for one child

  • $50 can provide uniforms and footwear

  • $100 can help cover school enrollment and educational support

  • $250 or more can transform the future of multiple displaced children

Together, we can protect children, rebuild futures, and create lasting impact through education.

Please continue sharing, donating, and standing with displaced children in Aku community. Every contribution brings another child back to school and back to hope.

Thank you for believing in the power of education to transform lives.
