Project Report | Feb 12, 2026
Progress Report - February 12, 2026

By Abihudi Kinyamgala | Project Leader

Dear Esteemed Donors and GlobalGiving Team,

1. Introduction

Warm greetings from Tanzania. We sincerely thank you for your unwavering support of our project. Your contributions have enabled us to continue empowering youth and women through sustainable agriculture, despite the ongoing challenges posed by funding shortages. This report highlights our progress over the past months, the challenges we have faced, and our plans for the upcoming period.

2. Current Status and Activities

During this reporting period, our team focused on maintaining project momentum and preparing for the resumption of full-scale activities once financial resources are available. Key updates include:

  • Community Engagement: Continued sensitization of youth groups such as Jitume kwa Kilimo and partner organization JOPEDO to maintain interest in sustainable agriculture practices.
  • Preparation for Training and Farming: Updated training materials, cultivation plans, and demonstration farm frameworks have been reviewed, ensuring readiness for immediate implementation.
  • Networking and Partnerships: Engaged with local agricultural offices, irrigation technicians, and potential sponsors to explore opportunities for technical and financial support.
  • Awareness Campaigns: Sustained community awareness on the importance of crop rotation, horticulture, and the benefits of irrigation technologies.

3. Achievements

Despite limited funding, we have achieved the following:

  • Maintained engagement of over 50 youth in preparatory agricultural activities using locally available resources.
  • Continued promotion of sustainable agriculture concepts such as crop rotation, organic farming, and water management within communities.
  • Identified additional land plots in Ushirombo, Geita, and Nuruka, Kigoma for model farms and training centers.
  • Strengthened collaboration with local organizations, paving the way for smoother implementation once funding becomes available.

4. Challenges

The main challenge remains insufficient funding, which has affected our ability to:

  • Acquire and prepare agricultural land for demonstration plots.
  • Procure irrigation systems, seeds, fertilizers, and farming tools.
  • Conduct structured training sessions and mentorship for youth participants.

These constraints have temporarily slowed the direct implementation of field activities but have not halted preparatory and capacity-building work.

5. Priority Needs

To achieve our project objectives, we urgently need support for:

  • Irrigation tools: Money-maker pumps, drip kits, and water storage systems for year-round cultivation.
  • Seeds and fertilizers: Certified seeds and organic fertilizers for demonstration farms.
  • Farming tools and protective gear: Essential hand tools, gloves, and safety equipment.
  • Training and resource materials: Manuals, demonstration plots, and transport support.

6. Future Plans (March – June 2026)

Once additional funding is secured, we plan to:

  1. Launch two demonstration farms in Ushirombo and Katoro areas to serve as training hubs.
  2. Recruit and train 100 new youth and women participants on sustainable agriculture techniques.
  3. Implement drip irrigation systems to enable year-round cultivation.
  4. Establish market linkages to help youth generate income from farm produce.
  5. Expand awareness and mobilization campaigns to additional communities, strengthening youth engagement and adoption of sustainable practices.

7. Appreciation and Call to Action

We extend heartfelt gratitude to our donors and supporters. Your contributions are transforming lives and enabling youth to see agriculture as a viable pathway to self-employment.

We kindly request your continued support through:

  • One-time donations or recurring monthly contributions
  • Sharing our project with friends, family, and institutions that support youth empowerment and sustainable agriculture

Every contribution, no matter the size, brings us closer to creating lasting impact for the youth of Tanzania.

8. Conclusion

Although progress has been slowed by financial constraints, our commitment to empowering youth through sustainable agriculture remains unwavering. With your support, we can continue to provide skills, training, and income opportunities, while creating a model for sustainable farming in Tanzania.

Thank you for making this transformative journey possible. Together, we are cultivating hope, resilience, and prosperity for the youth and communities we serve.
