Project Report | Nov 6, 2023
Empowering Youth Through Agriculture Update

By Abihudi Kinyamgala | Project Leader

Dear Esteemed Donors and Stakeholders,

We extend our profound gratitude to you for your unwavering commitment to our cause. Your support has been instrumental in driving our sustainable agriculture initiatives in mainland Tanzania, making you a true youth hero in our eyes. As we are in November, we want to express our heartfelt appreciation for your continued partnership and update you on our progress.

Your contributions have played a pivotal role in our mission to empower the youth through sustainable agriculture, offering them a pathway to combat unemployment. It has been approximately nine months since we introduced this project to you, our valued donors and stakeholders. While our funding progress may still have room to grow, we remain steadfast in our dedication to this noble cause, relying on volunteerism and member contributions to continue our planned work.

In our previous reports, we shared our success in establishing the concept of crop rotation within groups like the "Jitume kwa Kilimo" group. Over the past few months, we successfully sensitized our fellow organization, Joint People Development Organization (JOPEDO), to engage in garden-based agriculture. Through these sensitized groups, youth have actively cultivated various crops, reaping the benefits of their hard work.

Currently, there is a pressing need to secure additional land at Katoro area for expanding our youth agriculture activities. We find ourselves in a critical situation, urgently requiring more donations to ensure the success of our project. Your support has already proven that together, as development stakeholders, we can tackle the issue of youth unemployment through agricultural activities.

To further advance our mission, we are in need of funds to acquire water pumps and implement drip irrigation technology in our farms. The ongoing activities demand meticulous care and supervision to ensure the efficient use of irrigation technology. The potential to cultivate year-round is within reach if we can obtain the necessary funds to purchase irrigation tools and implement drip irrigation in our fields, leveraging the ample water sources in our communities. Water is an essential element for our success in creating job opportunities for the youth.

Your generous donations are indispensable in propelling our project forward and achieving our goals. We kindly request you to consider making a recurring monthly donation to support our ongoing work. Additionally, we encourage you to share our needs with your friends, colleagues, institutions, companies, and family members, which will greatly contribute to our continued success.

Your dedication to our cause is deeply appreciated, and the attached photos showcase the tangible outcomes of your contributions. We urge you not to hesitate in spreading our message to others who may be inspired to follow in your footsteps.

Together, we can make a lasting impact on the lives of the youth and our community. Your support is a beacon of hope for a brighter future.

Thank you for your continued commitment and partnership.
