Root Foundation opened early childhood education program to help children from vulnerable families to attend pre-primary education. Root Foundation created a safe space for these children who are in danger due to staying home alone when their parents went for hand to mouth jobs. 100 children acquire pre-primary academic skills as well social skills. The mothers of these children get short-term vocational training to be able to get careers and start earning income to cover basic family needs.
"Over 43 percent of children under the age of 5 are at risk of not fulfilling their full developmental potential, due to risks of poverty, poor nutrition and a lack of access to basic services and early enriching opportunities" (The Lancet, 2016) Also, most of these children from our Early Childhood Education were so exposed to the dangers like rape or going to the street. The parents left them alone at unsafe open space when they are going for casual jobs; street trading or man power jobs.
Early childhood education program provides a welcoming safe space to vulnerable children to be able to learn basic academic and social skills. At the same time, these children get basic needs like food at the center. Over 50 mothers of these children will be able to get careers through six months vocational trainings. This will help them to earn regular income and develop families. Moreover, these women improve parenting skills to take care and follow-up with their children.
100 children will increase e academic performances in primary and secondary school. This program will prevent these children from going on the street as they will go through our personal development and life skills programs from our safe center. 100 parents will improve their parenting skills and be able to know how to raise their children. Around 50 women will be empowered to learn vocational training and also start their careers to earn regular income which will develop their economy.
