Greetings from CHILD
Happy New year,
CHILD participated in the September 2021, GlobalGiving accelerator for our project of helping women with good quality seeds in Northern uganda.
Our project is targeting the February 2022 planting season, because farming in Uganda is rain-fed, gardens have to be prepared and ready for planting in February.
Our seed project is targeting 135 women for the start, on season one, and 2.5 tonnes of high quality seeds of maize and soya beans have already been procured. Each woman farmer has a garden of not less than two acres.
CHILD partnered with pearl seeds to carryout training in modern agricultural techinques and so far these trainings have been succesful and the women farmers are more than ready.
We are looking at doubling the number of beneficiaries for the second planting season come July, and with support from GlobalGiving community, this target is possible and realistic.
With total lockdown being lifted in uganda in the coming weeks, we hope everything will move on according to plan.
Kind Regards
Ddungu Jimmy
