YES! 74 years has passed since the inception of Foundation University, an academic institution that serves the financially challenged but intellectually gifted children of Negros Oriental and the nearby provinces, serving the youth who have dreamS and ambitions of getting a good education through schoalrship programs.
Foundation University celebrated its 74th founding anniversary in December of 2023 with the theme "PROUDLY SOAR" as a testament of the years of hardwork and dedication of those who have established the school and contributed to its growth marking its establishment and its history.
There were three major activities during the celebration. The university is known for the richness of its culture and arts. Each academic department showcased their talents in a "pasundayag" or show and in a "parada" or parade in the city streets of Dumaguete. This year's theme are the native birds of the province where each contingent integrates a specific bird species into their presentation. it was a very joyous celebration, the first where the university was allowed to use the city streets again after the pandemic.
The university looks forward to the preparations of its diamond year in 2024 which will mark its 75th. Discussions for a specific theme is already ongoing. The founding celebration normally starts in July witth the Festival of Hope which is the founding month and ends in December with 3 day cultural presentation.
