Provide Education for 100 Students in Philippines

Being a non-profit organization, Foundation University's mission since 74 years ago is always to educate men and women whose only passport is intellectual competence, thus, its scholarship program, because it believes that education should always be accessible to all.

One of the beneficiaries of this scholarship program where donations from GlobalGiving have helped fund his education is a boy who hails from one of the mountainous areas in Negros Oriental where access to a good education is nil and livelihood sources for income is scarce.  This did not hinder him  in pursuing his dream to attain quality education. His parents were farmers and he too had to assist them at the farm while studying at the primary school in the area.

Having heard of the scholarship program at Foundation, he ventured into town and applied for it and because he had exemplary records of his basic education he was accepted into the Broadcast Communication Program where his talent and skills in voice and other media were honed.  He had to work his way through by being a student assistant 5 hours a day while enrolled in 15 units per semester.

This scholar has persevered and is now employed at one of the giant media broadcast network in the Philippines while garnering awards for his skill and talent and as an employee.

We continue to pursue this program with the help of GlobalGiving to give more opportunities to deserving men and women with low income families that are financially challenged yet have sons and daughters who are intellectually gifted and interested to pursue their dream which is aligned with the FU dream.
