Just recently, 1 month ago to be exact, Negros Oriental, where Foundation University is located, was ravaged by Typhoon Odette with international name RAI, leaving people homeless in most areas of the province. Left without homes, without clothes, without food and water, people losing their means of livelihood was very devastating. This included homes of our students too.
GlobalGiving has played a very huge role in the education of our students that they themselves thought it time to be able to give back in however small way they can to alleviate the losses brought about by the typhoon. The kids organised their very own relief efforts to respond to the call for help for Negros Oriental.
It was an opportunity to seek those in need through a coordinated team activity. We teach our students to become good ambassadors of compassion and love that this is how they express their gratitude to GlobalGiving donors by reaching out and helping others during these times and together all can make a difference.
Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
