The Kasadyaan Festival held last December 2018 featured the mythical and legendary birds and it was a competition among colleges during the Gabi-i sa Pasundayag (showdown competition) and the Kasadyaan Parada (street dance competition).
At Foundation University, imbedded in the educational system is the promotion and preservation of culture and the arts. Long before festivals in were cities organized, Kasadyaan Festival (formerly known as Mardi Gras) was already there in December 1949. In fact, Negros Oriental’s Buglasan Festival was born inside FU in May of 1981.
For almost a month, students get to spend time after their regular classes for dance practices in order to portray the theme given to their specific colleges and departments. The production numbers are aimed to tell the story and convey a message to the audience.
More so, students who are enrolled at Foundation University do not only prepare for the future but they also are taught about the importance of the past as it inculcates the promotion culture and arts especially those of the Filipino.
By cultivating this aspect, the University does not only produce technologically-adept but also culturally-conscious individuals who possess love for country and its people.
