Thousands of children in Uganda live on the streets, facing hunger, abuse, and hopelessness. Dwelling Places has rescued and rehabilitated street children since 2002. With your support, we will rescue 100 children, providing safe shelter, food, medical care, counselling, and education. Every gift helps a child heal, leave the streets, and find a loving family or community. Together, we can turn survival into hope.
In Uganda, thousands of children are forced to live on the streets, struggling to survive without food, shelter, or protection. Many face abuse, exploitation, and poor health while being denied the chance to go to school. Without intervention, these children risk being trapped in a cycle of poverty and hopelessness. They urgently need rescue, rehabilitation, and reintegration into safe, loving families and communities where they can thrive.
This project will rescue 100 street-connected children and provide them with safe shelter, food, medical care, counselling, and education. Through rehabilitation, the children will heal from trauma and gain skills for a brighter future. The project will also trace families, support reintegration, and follow up to ensure lasting change. By meeting both immediate and long-term needs, the children will leave the streets and find safety, love, and hope for a new life.
The project will break the cycle of street life by equipping 100 children with education, life skills, and emotional healing, enabling them to thrive in safe families and communities. As these children grow, they will have the chance to pursue education and employment, reducing vulnerability to exploitation and poverty. In the long term, this creates empowered individuals who can contribute positively to society and inspire change for other vulnerable children.
