Dear Donors,
We are deeply grateful to share the success of our recent outreach under the Support Children on Education & Other Needs Project.
In January 2026, our team visited Ampara and Maha Oya (Eastern Province), reaching nearly 4,000 students from low-income families attending rural schools. This initiative came soon after Cyclone Ditwah, which had affected several families in these regions. The donation was warmly received by school authorities and parents, bringing much-needed relief and joy to the children.
Each student received a school bag, exercise books, and other essential items required for the new school year. In total, we covered 24 rural schools — 12 in Ampara and 12 in Maha Oya — ensuring that every child had the tools to continue their education with confidence.
Beyond individual student support, we also donated library books and musical instruments to enrich the learning environment. Refreshments were provided to all students, and each school’s staff received a small token of appreciation for their dedication. Also, with the compliments of Siddhalepa, each child received a pack of Siddhalepa Balm, toothpaste, soap in a Sigghalepa tote bag.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to the Sri Lanka Army, whose tireless assistance in managing all on-ground logistics made this large-scale distribution smooth and efficient.
To our donors, we express our deepest gratitude for your unstinted support and generosity. Your compassion continues to light the path for thousands of children, helping them dream bigger and learn better.
May you all be blessed abundantly for your kindness and unwavering commitment to education and community upliftment.
Thank you
From the Tarana Rural Schools Project Team
