Our 2025 Year in Review!

By Racha Yehia | Managing Director, C2C

Dear GlobalGiving Community,

As we welcome 2026, we are feeling grateful for your continued support of our efforts to improve and protect child health in Haiti. This month, we are sharing several updates from our clinics as well as a look ahead at what is to come in 2026.

First, some updates since our last report:

  • In September, we implemented a large-scale vaccination campaign in the north, aimed at strengthening regional vaccination coverage following antigen stockouts in the previous months (more on this challenge below).
  • To catch up children who had either received zero doses of recommended vaccines or who were under-immunized (including malnourished children), we implemented targeted and “reach each district”, or “RED”, vaccination campaigns.
  • We conducted three days of health activities in schools in the community of Pignon, including deworming and vitamin A supplementation.
  • We promoted early initiation of and exclusive breastfeeding, in clinics and via community health workers.
  • To help families for whom transportation to clinics was a challenge to completing their child’s malnutrition treatment, we created specified areas in C2C communities where families could go to have their children assessed and pick up Medika Mamba (a ready-to-use therapeutic food used in the treatment of malnutrition).
  • We continued our collaboration with CARITAS for community-based management of malnutrition in northeast Haiti.
  • We continued nutritional surveillance of children aged 6-59 months through monthly weighing and malnutrition screening, capacity strengthening of clinical and community health staff on acute malnutrition management, and door-to-door sessions and home visits to improve community management of malnutrition.

As we ended 2025, we faced several challenges to service delivery, most notably the irregular supply of vaccine antigens. Persistent stockouts were common throughout the year due to limited supplies at our departmental depot. This significant logistical challenge meant that our yearly cohort of children under 12 months old could not be fully vaccinated on time. However, thanks to the support of donors like yourself and our partnership with the Ministry of Health and other key organizations, we are working to overcome these challenges in 2026 to ensure that all children in our communities are fully vaccinated, on time.

Lastly, we’d like to share our 2025 child health services results, which were only possible thanks to your generous support.

  • We saw 11,693 children under five for the first time - a 3% increase in visits over the prior year.
  • We admitted 78 children for severe malnutrition.
  • We reduced the number of children admitted for moderate malnutrition by 33%, with 182 children admitted - demonstrating that our preventive activities are likely leading to a decrease in the number of children experiencing malnutrition in our communities.
  • A total of 162 children recovered/graduated from our malnutrition program - a 45% increase over the prior year.

Thank you so much for your continued support of C2C’s child health services. Because of your generosity, children in Haiti are receiving the care they need, from immunizations to malnutrition treatment.
