Project Report | Sep 18, 2019
Nafasi's Thank You and Farewell

By Jill van Leeuwen | Project Leader

Nafasi’s Thank You and Farewell

We are delighted and excited to confirm that Nafasi Welfare Centre’s chance for a new direction has arrived! The planned changes that we explained in our last report are now in place and the Nafasi buildings have their new purpose – they are open again under their new name the ‘Samaritan Day Care & Kindergarten’.

We are already providing nursery day care and pre-school kindergarten for vulnerable little ones aged 6 months to 6 years in our modern and adapted facilities. GlobalGiving have approved our new Project #42553 ‘Help Vulnerable Children Go to Preschool in Uganda’ and it is live and accepting donations. https://www.globalgiving.org/42553

The time has therefore come to retire Project #20522 that has supported Nafasi as a residential crisis centre, so this is Nafasi’s final report and farewell.

We want to say an enormous thank you to all our sponsors and donors, your support has been brilliant and none of our work would have been possible without it. You have helped us provide life saving care to babies and young children at a time of crisis, and to give them and their young mothers a Nafasi New Chance.

You can carry on helping! We are looking forward to all the new challenges that running and developing our day care and kindergarten centre will bring, and your continuing support will make a real difference.

You can find additional information by clicking on the new project link and if you have any questions please do contact us.

If you have been making a recurring donation to the Nafasi project these will automatically roll over to the new Samaritan project, so you do not need to do anything, and you will start to receive our reports and news of the little ones that we will be looking after.

Thank you once again – farewell Nafasi – hello and welcome Samaritan!
