Yogurt con Amor helps 80 poor children & young people w/disability who lack concentration & energy to complete their daily classes & or physical therapy. The reason is often due to the poor nutrition they receive in their homes. The project makes natural products: yogurt, cheese, granola, regional desserts. In addition, they strive to support the cost of lunch & breakfast in the different programs through sales, plus offering employment to young people/disabilities.
Eighty children & young people w/disABILITIES in Familias Especiales, receive special education, therapy & social services, but lack nutrition. Their families are below poverty levels & cannot provide the necessary food. Most are from single mothers' households w/ little employment and education. Having children with disabilities strains the family even more economically. Yogurt con Amor can provide this extra nutritional support, plus they can offer work for young people with disabilities.
Lunch & breakfast provide essential nutrition to children & young people w/ disAbility in FE. Everyone knows that nourished children learn better. The yogurt project sells yogurt in the community to support the lunch program &, at the same time, provides yogurt for 80 children & young people who receive special education, therapy, and social services in FE. Yogurt con Amor also offers employment possibilities to young people with disAbilities, giving added economic support to the families.
80 children & young people will receive lunch & yogurt/ fruit, on week days. Their abilities in therapy, special education & social services will improve. Families will be motivated w/extra nutrition, to give more attention to their children. Young people will be employed by the Yogurt project & give economic support to their families who are below poverty level. The person w/disAbility will be an active part of their own life project, creating awareness of their abilities with Yogurt con Amor.
