Healthcare for 96 Women & Children Violence Victims
The program includes psychosocial care for victims of
violence in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. As part of the assistance and
rehabilitation measures, the following activities have been carried out in the
period from September to December:
In the period from September to October 2019, 20 victims
were treated by offering a weekly session to each of these, that is, 4 sessions
per person, with 80 sessions in total. Of the 20 victims mentioned, 13 are women
and 7 men.
In the period from October to November, 22 people were
attended, of which 14 were women and 8 men; A weekly session was offered to
each of these, that is, 4 sessions per person, having 88 sessions for this
period of time.
Through this program, it is intended to restore the
emotional condition of the victims, with psychosocial intervention being of
vital importance since they have developed chronic degenerative diseases due to
the emotional burden they suffer as a result of the victimizing event.
A workshop on “tools for non-violent conflict resolution”
was held, attended by 33 participants on the first day and 50 participants on
the second day; This workshop was attended by 9 workshop workers from two
social organizations expert in working with victims. This workshop allowed the
participants to know and practice tools aimed at analyzing the social context
in which they live, understand how it affects them and built joint strategies
so that, from active nonviolence, they can better face their pains and minimize
their effects on their daily lives and some self-care strategies were also
On the other hand, two training sessions have been carried
out for the team that is implementing the psychosocial intervention. The
trainings are fundamental pillars for the professional growth of the victims'
companions, since through these they seek to strengthen their learning and
tools to offer adequate comprehensive care.
