second report

Healthcare for 96 Women & Children Violence Victims

The program includes psychosocial care for victims of violence in the State of Guerrero, Mexico. As part of the assistance and rehabilitation measures, the following activities have been carried out in the period from September to December:

In the period from September to October 2019, 20 victims were treated by offering a weekly session to each of these, that is, 4 sessions per person, with 80 sessions in total. Of the 20 victims mentioned, 13 are women and 7 men.

In the period from October to November, 22 people were attended, of which 14 were women and 8 men; A weekly session was offered to each of these, that is, 4 sessions per person, having 88 sessions for this period of time.

Through this program, it is intended to restore the emotional condition of the victims, with psychosocial intervention being of vital importance since they have developed chronic degenerative diseases due to the emotional burden they suffer as a result of the victimizing event.

A workshop on “tools for non-violent conflict resolution” was held, attended by 33 participants on the first day and 50 participants on the second day; This workshop was attended by 9 workshop workers from two social organizations expert in working with victims. This workshop allowed the participants to know and practice tools aimed at analyzing the social context in which they live, understand how it affects them and built joint strategies so that, from active nonviolence, they can better face their pains and minimize their effects on their daily lives and some self-care strategies were also outlined.

On the other hand, two training sessions have been carried out for the team that is implementing the psychosocial intervention. The trainings are fundamental pillars for the professional growth of the victims' companions, since through these they seek to strengthen their learning and tools to offer adequate comprehensive care.

The names of the beneficiaries and photos of them are omitted for reasons of confidentiality and security
