The main objective is to help reduce morbidity and mortality of women of reproductive age, children under 5 years and internally displaced people in remote areas of Bor South County. The expected results are: access to primary healthcare services , improvement of health and well being of pregnant women and improvement of nutritional status of children under 5 years of age
South Sudan continues to face deteriorating humanitarian conditions twelve years after independence in 2011. South Sudan enjoyed relative peace and progress until December 2013, when an internal conflict arose between the government and the opposition. The situation deteriorated further in 2016, leading to massive population displacement, especially in Jonglei State. This situation is worsened by the endemic violence in the region, conflict, accessibility constraints and public health issues.
By working jointly with the Bor Hospital and health centers in the area, we will improve the health situation of mothers, pregnant women and newborn babies, so that will impact directly in the health status of the population. We also train and empower the health professionals and improve their working conditions so that they can impact positively in the populations health in Jonglei state.
By maintaining and improving the health system in the area, mortality and morbility will decrease, having a long term impact on the population. By training and empowering health professionals, the health of the population will benefit from this project, and the professionals will in the future continue their work .
