Luz, a woman full of dreams

Luz is a 41 years old woman, who loves to read and her favorite author is Jules Verne. She was born in Amalfi, a beautiful town in Antioquia. She works as Industrial Engineer. Luz was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia while living in Panama and transferred to San Vicente Fundacion Hospital in Colombia in May 2022 because in Panama did not have the resources to treat the disease.
She refers everything has been excellent since she arrived here: from the cleaning team, food suppliers, and medical professionals who treat her symptoms every day. She said that her improvement has been really significant during the months that she has been under treatment. “They always make me laugh! they are kind and sweet. I feel like I took a break from everything in my life and this episode is a holiday. After the treatment, I will return home to keep going with my normal life.”
Actually, Luz is waiting for bone marrow transplantation to complete her cancer treatment.

Rocio appreciates her quality of life

Rocio is a 75 year old patient who arrived at our hospital in a complicated state of health and with very deteriorated vital signs after having visited several hospitals and not being attended, she was received by our staff and immediately proceeded to perform tests in order to give her an accurate diagnosis. After several days in the ICU and procedures, she was diagnosed with renal failure, which allowed her to begin the dialysis process and considerably improve her quality of life.
She is very grateful to our hospital and says "the doctors of San Vicente saved my life, thanks to them who studied my case so much I can have a quality of life and continue to share with my family, since I left the hospital I feel that I lived again".

With your help we take care of our children's hear

The Santiago Corazón Children's Unit is a space dedicated to the care of pediatric patients with highly complex cardiac problems, this area of our Hospital is equipped with the best technology and allows us to meet the needs of the region for the care of children with heart disease.
With the help of multiple benefactors, this Unit has operated on 352 children, who were given the best care by the hand of our specialists and medical team, seeking their well-being in the short and long term so that they can continue to lead a happy childhood. During the year 2022 we have intervened 34 children, most of them coming from low-income or remote regions, who thanks to our commitment to the welfare and donations can receive comprehensive care without any impediment.
Thanks to the great support we have received, we can continue to provide specialized care in heart disease to children in our Hospital San Vicente Fundación, always watching over their welfare and contributing to reduce the number of child deaths from heart disease each year.
With your contributions it is possible to continue providing care with specialists and equipment of the best technology to low-income children suffering from heart disease, we hope to continue counting on your donations.
