During the months of March to June 2026 Proyecto La Nueva Esperanza distributed 2,356 meals to 59 senior participants. The increase in inflation increased prices for all goods making life harder for our seniors, who also exist on very low incomes. Receiving a nutritional meal during the weekends adds to their well being and helps to minimize their expenses.
Two of our participants expressed their gratitude for the services we provide:
Participant #1 said “I have tasted meals from other places but my favorites are the ones from the Proyecto. Their meals are the best, my congratulations to the cook.”
Participant #2 said “I’m very grateful because they take good care of me. When I don’t have transportation to my medical appointments I just call knowing that someone will take me”.
In addition to meals, our participants received 55 kits of personal hygiene articles: towels, soap, toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, hair conditioner, alcohol and hand sanitizer.
Projecto La Nueva Esperanza was able to distribute 103 grocery bags to our participants and people from the community thanks to our GlobalGiving donors and another government agency.
We cannot take care of everyone’s needs. But in a world where the needs of the poor and the old are often forgotten, Proyecto La Nueva Esperanza and GlobalGiving continue to do their best to address suffering. Thanks for your continued support.
