From August thru November 2023 Proyecto La Nueva Esperanza continues to provide basic services to 66 of our elderly participants in San Antonio, P.R.

During this period our cook prepared 3,048 meals which were delivered to our participant homes every weekend.      Our participants live distant from one another and it takes around two (2) hours to distribute the meals. The meal is different each each week in order to provide all the nutrients required to be healthy.  Our cook prepare all their meals and the participants said she's great!

The Case Manager has been going to the elderly homes to verify if the participants are protected against the influenza (flu) vaccines. This is most common during this season and the elderly health is most fragile. Right now, the influenza cases have been increasing and it’s important to protect them.

We currently have only one (1) housekeeper. She visits the elderly depending in the priority of their needs such as cooking breakfast and lunch or cleaning. Because of the state of the health of many of the participants we could use at least one more housekeeper, but our budget does not allow for the extra expense. We hope to receive the extra funds to cover this extra expenses.

One of our participants said: “I’m grateful for the attention that Proyecto La Nueva Esperanza give us, the elderly are frequently forgotten.”  We hope that our donors continue supporting them during 2024.
