This funding will cover the cost of staff, transportation, training and activities related to health and hygiene. 2000 patients will be provided with primary treatment at PHASE-supported clinics, 25 child births will be supported by skilled birth workers, and 100 pregnant women will be visited at least once (ANC 1st) in PHASE supported clinics.
GlobeMed is a student-ran NGO that partners grassroots organizations with university students. GlobeMed at Tufts has partnered with PHASE Nepal, an NGO that focuses on improving livelihood, health care, and education in rural Nepali communities. Our fundraising efforts will financially support a PHASE health clinic in an area in which many need to walk hours across mountainous terrain in order to reach a government health center.
The money raised by GlobeMed at Tufts specifically will be used by PHASE to run a health post in Bichhiya. Meeting our fundraising goal will fully support stocking the health post with medicine and all other necessary materials for one year.
By providing locals with more access to quality healthcare, we hope to help PHASE lay the groundwork for self empowerment and self sustainability. Building a community's trust through quality healthcare also encourages them to participate in PHASE health and livelihood initiatives. Our goal is to assist in providing the means for growth of a healthier generation that is more self-sufficient and able to break the vicious cycle of poverty in rural Nepali community.
