This project has helped 2000 people in central Nigeria, to know their Diabetes Status and has also diagnosed 300 new cases before complication,200 other prediabetes patients were also assisted.
In Nigeria, 5.7 million people are said to Diabetics. In 2016, 400,000 Nigerians died of Diabetes and related complication. It was also estimated that 600,000 people in Kaduna state are at the risk of Developing Diabetes while 245,000 people are said to Diabetic in Kaduna state (IDF). In Nigeria, poverty, ignorance, attribution of symptoms to other myths, lack of tools and inadequate training of health workers are responsible for much of the failure to detect Diabetes early stage.

the project will train and equip 10 primary healthcare centres in the area who will continue to diagnose, counsel and teach the diabetes patients in the area on the need to adjust their lifestyle for effective management of diabetes. We will also provide the diabetes patients in the area with glucometers and teach them how to use it who will in turn also teach other members of the community on the best way to manage diabetes
