Preparing the ground to sow seeds
Preparing the ground to sow seeds

Immune system does a remarkable job of defending ourselves against disease-causing microorganisms and one has to continuously make efforts to keep the immune system in good condition and immunity levels high.

With the HIV + children, the immune system is not as good as those having normal health. Continuous efforts are made to ensure the immune system of children living in our care at Arias Home, is maintained to a desired level. Consumption of ART drugs has deteriorated their immune system.

Efforts are made to ensure children get to eat organic vegetables and foods. To support our efforts we set up a vegetable garden on 15000 sq. ft. area in Arias Home and scattered seeds of 5 leafy vegetables about a month back in a patch of 400 sq ft. area. Beautiful green leafy vegetable grew.  It was so exciting to see the leafy vegetables and equally excited were the children as they had contributed in maintaining the vegetable garden.

The first harvest of green leafy vegetables was close to 75 bundles. We were able to grow organic vegetables and fruits for the children which will definitely help in boosting their immune system.
