YOGA- A way to healthy living

By Namrata kadam | Program Development Officer

“Pandit Ravi Shankar Yoga Centre” is one of the renowned yoga centres in India as well as abroad and are of the belief that Yoga brings great synchronization between mind, body and soul. It is one of the oldest practices to maintain the body and mind in good shapes. Yoga brings intense calmness and stability to several minds. It is the complete panacea for all types of diseases.

As a part of their ongoing awareness building campaign, few staff of “Pandit Ravi Shankar Yoga Centre” Chennai visited Arias Home of HOPE to teach some yoga moves to the children. Before giving the children a practical demo of asanas that are important from the children’s point of view, they explained the need for doing asanas and how it helps the body mind and soul. Not only this, they also explained that a person need not have to exert force in stretching his/her body to attain any given posture but should be focused and maintain the maximum level of flexibility he/she can reach.

The staff taught simple asanas that the children could pick up easily and could be able to practise daily. It was a very helpful session for the home staff as well as the children. All the children enjoyed the sesiion and promised to practise yoga on regular basis.

HOPE foundation is always in a process of giving the best to the children inorder to help them live a healthy life.
