Healthcare to HIV/AIDS Infected & Affected Orphans

Prema, a 10-year-old girl, once lived on the streets without a home, identity or access to school. With her father gone and her mother struggling with polio, survival itself was uncertain. When she entered Arias Home of HOPE (AHH) in July 2025, life finally began to change. She ate regular meals, enrolled in school, received care and experienced a sense of safety. But this was short-lived. In September of the same year, her mother took her away under the pretext of a ritual and Prema disappeared. In those months, Prema was at serious risk of child labour, abuse, or even worse. But AHH Staff did not let her story end there. Through
swift coordination with the police, Childline and child protection authorities, Prema was traced and rescued in Feb 2026. When she returned, she was withdrawn and fearful. Today, with care and counselling, she is slowly healing. She is now back in school, smiling again with hope.

Smita, 16, a newly admitted resident, grew up without parental love, moving between homes as her elderly grandparents struggled to support her. Carrying deep feelings of abandonment, she was at risk of losing direction and dropping out of school. With timely intervention, she was admitted to AHH. Here, she found belonging. In a safe and nurturing environment, she began to heal. Today, she is emotionally secure, actively engaged and dreams of becoming a lawyer.

Priya and Prabha, sisters, came to AHH after a childhood marked by loss and neglect. Their father’s alcoholism and their mother’s disappearance left them without care or stability. When they arrived, they were silent, withdrawn and out of school. Without intervention, they would have remained vulnerable to continued neglect. At AHH, that changed. With consistent care and support, they slowly opened up, returned to school and rediscovered childhood. Today, Priya (Class 8) dreams of becoming a teacher, while Prabha (Class 5) is growing up in a safe and secure environment.

Salma, 17, faced a different but urgent challenge of being forced into early marriage despite her desire to study. Without the support, her education and independence would have ended. Through AHH, she found protection and a choice of life. Today, she continues her education with confidence and aspires to become an IT professional.

Each of these girls stood at the edge of uncertainty where education could have stopped and exploitation was a real risk.For these girls, Arias Home of HOPE is not just providing a shelter, but it is a safe haven filled with love, care, protection and restoration of their childhood.

These are the stories of just five girls. There are 14 more who have faced similar or even harsher realities but today, all of the 19 girls sleep without fear. They go to school; they celebrate birthdays and laugh and play. They dream like any other child should. This transformation was made possible because of you, because when you support AHH, you are not just helping a child, you are protecting a future and restoring dignity.
