HOPE foundation created an opportunity to love and be loved by bringing together two groups who both needed connection, the girls of Arias Home of Hope and the elderly mothers (Ammachies) from the old age home run by HOPE.
All the girls of Arias Home of HOPE come from difficult backgrounds and have seldom experienced the gentle love of a grandmother. At the same time, many Ammachies miss the presence and affection of their grandchildren. To meet both these needs, HOPE first invited the Ammachies to visit Arias Home of Hope. The girls welcomed the Ammachies with folded hands, shy smiles, and handmade flower garlands. They helped them sit comfortably, offered water, and stayed close, listening as the Ammachies shared stories from their lives. As the day went on, they prayed together, sang songs and enjoyed simple cultural performances. Some girls sat quietly holding the Ammachies’ hands, while others talked, laughed and shared their thoughts. For many of the girls, this was the first time they felt the warmth, patience and unconditional care of a grandmother. For the Ammachies, it was a joyful chance to give love, blessings and guidance, and to feel needed once again.
This bond did not stop with this visit. To continue the relationship, HOPE later arranged for the girls to visit the old age home. Ammachies warmly welcomed the girls and were delighted with their visit. They spent time together, talking, listening, and sharing smiles. The girls sang songs, danced and shared happy moments, while the Ammachies purchased and gave away gifts for each of the girls with the little money they had. They also shared words of wisdom and affection . This two-way sharing of love deeply touched both the children and the elders. This union helped fill the void .They developed a special connection that has helped heal emotional gaps in the children’s lives and gave the Ammachies renewed joy and purpose. HOPE foundation sincerely thanks you all for making this meaningful experience possible. Your support helped create a space where both children and elders could give love, receive love and feel truly valued.
