This quarter marked the beginning of new chapters for some, celebrated festivals joyously with children and offered an unparalleled shopping experience. At the AHH Home, a new superintendent and counselor assumed their roles, bringing positive changes. Additionally, two new boys were welcomed into the community care center in Tirunelveli.
The appointment of the counselor has proven to be a blessing for the girls, providing them with a platform to share their concerns, fears and dreams. Through individual and group counseling sessions, the girls are gradually overcoming the challenges.
One notable success story is Swati (name changed), who, during counseling, addressed various issues, including teasing about her nose and conflicts with other girls. The counselor employed corrective measures and open conversations, guiding Swati to appreciate her current living situation and fostering gratitude. By sharing personal experiences, the counselor imparted valuable lessons on reacting to negativity, promoting personal growth, and resilience.
The festive season in the last quarter allowed the children to shop for dresses of their choice, elevating their morale. The cultural program, featuring dance, mimicry, and song performances, added to the excitement.
The two boys who joined the Community Care Centre in Tirunelveli seamlessly adjusted and expressed happiness at finding a place that caters to their every need. Notably, one boy aged 14 is HIV positive, while the other, aged 8, is an orphaned child.
